The Checkered Cottage is a one of a kind shop established in 1999 and is located at 135 West Jefferson in Kirkwood, MO. This quaint historic St. Louis suburb makes an ideal home for the Checkered Cottage’s blend of paper crafting supplies and gifts. We are the Cheers Bar of the Crafting world without the alcohol but definitely the laughter and fun.
Inside the Checkered Cottage you will find the area’s most complete selection of card stock, ribbons, embellishments, decorative papers, our exclusive Artisan Attic Pattern ideas by Linda plus more. A nice assortment of seasonal gift items is available which includes our consignment jewelry, our world famous soy candles, florals, plus more. Our items are ever changing with the seasons. Christmas is especially a time you don’t want to miss visiting the cottage.
Also, don’t forget to join us for classes at the Cottage. Our class schedule is updated weekly and includes embossing, stamping, and decorative painting classes. The classes offer a great opportunity to mix creativity with friendship, and go home with a hand made project.
Recreate is one of our hottest additions to the store. This section is our resale area where customers can bring merchandise they no longer wish to work with and make some money. We assign each person a dealer number and price that will be on the sales floor for approx. 60 days. The first 30 days items are full price, second 30 days items are half off the price assigned at the time of being displayed on the floor. You will receive $ for your items – not in store credit.
Join us for some fun classes at the Cottage. Our class schedule is updated weekly and includes classes in stamping, card creations, scrap booking, Silhouette, and decorative painting. The classes offer a great opportunity to mix creativity with friendship and go home with a hand made project. Project samples are on display at the store when new classes go on our website or can be viewed in our class section of this website.
